Poetry and YOU featuring Judyth Hill
La poeta Judyth Hill, aclamada internacionalmente y una de las favoritas desde hace mucho tiempo en la escena literaria de San Miguel, leerá sus inspiradoras poesías y dirigirá un micrófono abierto después de su lectura.
Se convertirá en un encuentro poético en lenguas inglés, español, purépecha y otomí, un recital de poesía políglota con grandes luminarias de la literatura actual.
Trae tus poemas, ¡todos y todas son bienvenidos a leerlos!
Presentado por la poeta local Catherine Marenghi, el evento también contará con un «Poetry Tawk», en el que los poetas participarán en un animado debate sobre el papel vital y curativo que la poesía puede y debe desempeñar en nuestro mundo.
Prepárate para sentirte renovado, rejuvenecido e inspirada.

Judyth Hill
Poeta, maestra, editora, autora de nueve libros de poesía y del aclamado poema «Wage Peace», es presidenta del Comité Internacional de Escritoras de PEN, editora jefe de Wild Rising Press, directora de proyectos especiales de la Conferencia de Escritores de San Miguel e instructora de materias especiales de Anusara Yoga. Hill imparte talleres de «Muse on the Move Poetry & Yoga» (Poesía y yoga en movimiento) en todo el mundo, y ha sido descrita por el St. Helena Examiner como «energía con piel» y por el Denver Post como «una tigresa con pluma».
Catherine Marenghi
Galardonada poeta, novelista, periodista y escritora de memorias. Es autora de tres libros de poesía: Things We Take, Things we Let Go, Unfurled: Love Poems y Breaking Bread. También es autora de la novela histórica Our Good Name y Glad Farm: A Memoir. Participa activamente en la comunidad literaria de San Miguel.
Dennise Martinez
Autora guanajuatense, originaria de Comonfort, actualmente radica en San Miguel de Allende, donde se inició en la escritura de ficción en la Biblioteca Pública, ese lugar dio vida a su obra Mujer nacida bruja, una colección de cuentos de ficción histórica. Funge como gerente de la librería de ese bello complejo cultural.
Carmen Rioja
Poeta y artista mexicana especializada en la restauración de materiales arqueológicos y talleres de creación literaria. Le gusta escribir cuentos y poemas para arrojarlos en botellas imaginarias al mar. Ella ha publicado los libros La Muerte Niña y Rojo 43

The internationally acclaimed poet Judyth Hill, a longtime favorite on the San Miguel literary scene, will read from her uplifting poetry and lead an open mic following her reading.
It will be a poetic gathering in English, Spanish, Purépecha, and Otomí, a multilingual poetry recital featuring leading figures in contemporary literature.
Bring your poems – all are welcome to read!
Hosted by local poet Catherine Marenghi, the event will also feature a “Poetry Tawk,” in which the poets will engage in a lively discussion on the vital and healing role that poetry can and must play in our world.
Be prepared to be restored, rejuvenated and inspired.

Poet, maestra, editor, author of nine books of poetry and the acclaimed poem, “Wage Peace,” is chair of the PEN International Women Writers Committee, Managing Editor of Wild Rising Press, San Miguel Writers Conference Special Projects Director, and Anusara Yoga Special Subjects instructor. Hill leads “Muse on the Move Poetry & Yoga” workshops world-round, and was described by the St. Helena Examiner as, “Energy with skin” and by the Denver Post as, “A tigress with a pen.”
Catherine Marenghi
Award-winning poet, novelist, journalist, and memoirist. She is the author of three poetry books – Things We Take, Things we Let Go, Unfurled: Love Poems, and Breaking Bread. She also authored the historic fiction Our Good Name and Glad Farm: A Memoir. She is active in the San Miguel literary community.
Dennise Martinez
Guanajuato-born author originally from Comonfort. She currently lives in San Miguel de Allende, where she began writing fiction at the Biblioteca. It was there that her work, “Mujer nacido bruja”, a collection of historical fiction stories, was born. She serves as the bookstore manager at this beautiful cultural complex.
Carmen Rioja
Mexican poet and artist specializing in the restoration of archaeological materials and creative writing workshops. She enjoys writing stories and poems to throw into imaginary bottles at sea. She has published the books “La Muerte Niña” (The Death Girl) and “Red 43.”
