Únete a la celebración en la Biblioteca de la herencia africana en el Tercer Festival México Negro, Nuestra Tercera Raíz.
Tanya Duarte, activista afromexicana y Maestra en psicología y medicina tradicional, imparte este taller para aprender a elaborar Muñecas Negras Abayomi, las muñecas de matriz africana en la época de la esclavitud.
Al realizar estas muñecas, Tanya comparte la forma de aprender de la valentía, la fortaleza y la resiliencia de nuestras ancestras africanas.

Join us to the celebration of the African Heritage at tha Biblioteca during the Third México Negro Festival, “Our Third Root.”
Tanya Duarte, an Afro-Mexican activist with a master’s degree in psychology and traditional medicine, leads this workshop to teach participants how to make Abayomi Black Dolls—dolls with African roots dating back to the era of slavery.
Through the process of making these dolls, Tanya shares how we can learn from the courage, strength, and resilience of our African ancestors.
For the workshop, all you need to bring are scissors and fabric scraps.
