Sinopsis
A minimalist road movie and prison comedy that transforms aimlessness into a form of poetic adventure.
Set in New Orleans, the film follows Zack, a radio disc jockey, and Jack, a small-time pimp, who find themselves sharing a jail cell after being falsely accused of crimes they did not commit.
Their uneasy coexistence is disrupted by the arrival of Roberto, an eccentric Italian immigrant whose optimism and fractured English provide an unexpected source of humor and humanity. Together, the three men escape prison and wander through the Louisiana bayou in search of an uncertain future.
Jarmusch strips the narrative to its essentials. The black-and-white cinematography, deadpan performances, and episodic structure create a world where character and atmosphere matter more than plot.
The film embraces drift, coincidence, and the absurdity of everyday existence.
