Sinopsis

In this highly original film, single people must find a mate within 45 days or be transformed into an animal of their choice. Deadpan, both funny and moving, Greek Lanthimos’s satire is a triumph of cinematic surrealism. 

In the film’s ruthless world, couples deserve official protection, and the privilege of being left alone by The State. Single people are accosted in public spaces with demands for appropriate papers.

Lanthimos is interested, here and in his other films, in the pathological human need for systems. This is his first English-language film.
