After a brutal dictatorship is overthrown by a popular uprising, the country’s aging president is forced to flee the capital with his young grandson. Disguised as ordinary citizens, the two embark on a dangerous journey through a nation devastated by years of repression, encountering the very people who suffered under the regime they once ruled.

Combining the intimacy of a road movie with the scope of a political allegory, the film examines the corrupting nature of absolute power, the consequences of tyranny, and the human cost of authoritarian rule.
