La Ciénaga es el impresionante debut de Lucrecia Martel, una voz fundamental del cine latinoamericano contemporáneo.
Ambientada en el calor sofocante de una finca en decadencia en el noroeste argentino, la película retrata a dos familias conectadas entre sí, atrapadas en un verano de desgano, incomodidad y tensión latente.
Martel capta magistralmente la inercia y el caos contenido de la vida burguesa provincial, utilizando el sonido, la textura y una narrativa fragmentada para evocar el paisaje psíquico de una sociedad en declive.
A través de su atmósfera envolvente y su lenguaje visual sutil, La Ciénaga explora temas como la clase social, la represión y el peso agobiante de las historias no contadas.
Una obra clave del Nuevo Cine Argentino, la película es tan inquietante como hipnótica —un sueño febril del que se despierta transformado.
