LEGACY GIFTS

Estate planning ensures that your assets, no matter how modest, are distributed according to your wishes and that your family is protected.

You may name a charitable organization as a beneficiary in your will, designating proceeds from real estate or a life insurance policy. Including a qualified charity in your estate plans—by a specific amount or percentage—is a simple way to leave a legacy and potentially reduce estate taxes.

Below is suggested language to use when drafting your bequest.

“I hereby give, devise and bequeath [$ dollars] to Funds for the Biblioteca Publica Inc, a nonprofit, tax-exempt California corporation, for the benefit of The Biblioteca Publica and its general use to be determined by the current Board of Directors and Executive Director.”

“I hereby give, devise and bequeath [percentage] of my estate to Funds for the Biblioteca Publica Inc, a nonprofit, tax-exempt California corporation, for the benefit of the Biblioteca Publica and its general use to be determined by the current Board of Directors and Executive Director.”
